Had Lumbar Laminectomy 04/2008. Still having severe leg pain , and lower right side back pain. ? - leg pain after lumbar laminectomy
November 14, 2008 was another neurosurgeon to visit, and he is baffled. Had second MRI, EMG, myelogram, EMG showed irritation of the nerve root, but said that everything looks very good. Now I'm in 300 Gabapatein MGM did not know if this will help. What can I expect?

They felt also prescribe pain and nerve Neuronton (Gabapatien). This drug has forgotten me, things, ie names, addresses, and the simple things. It was also attended by the throat, lips and mouth and skin rash caused harm. My doctor prescribed me these lyrics, they imitated the other reactions. He can not at this family of drugs because of side effects. I saw a doctor for pain and I'm on a plan against the painkillers Oxycontin and Oxycodone and the sleep medication. This plan works best side effects of these drugs are not as serious as other side effects. And the nerve pain is something that will not disappear. You can also try hot and cold (ice and a heating pad) every 20 minutes during times of grief, I found it works faster than any medication if you need immediate assistance.
There could be something that does not try in the CT, MRI, etc. are included, the drug, but if the pain persists, go to your doctor error. its very unlikely that it is only in your head, or recovery standard
Hi Maegan,
I just posted a blog under lumbar laminectomy intradural tumor on blogger.com. Anyway, I had lumbar laminectomy surgery 18 months ago. I had a tumor on my spine. Since the surgery, I have had right leg weakness, right leg pain (especially in the knee area-peroneal nerve), foot drop, and numbness of the foot. Since my problem is usually found in childhood, (I'm 48) I have had no one to talk with and compare notes. I am taking Lyrica. The Neurontin gave me terrible dreams and I'd wake up and couldn't get back to sleep. The Lyrica makes me fuzzy...but seems to help with the pain. The nerve pain can get pretty bad if I don't take the Lyrica, and also, I hope I'm not getting addicted to it, as I can't seem to sleep without taking it. I am scheduled for a nerve conduction study this week. Have you had one of these?
